Import geometry in GAMBIT

I'm dealing with CAD geometry realized by Solidworks Is it importable in GAMBIT? Which is the right extension file?

you can try sat file. i actually dont know if solid wokrs can export this kind of geometry, but fluent can read it.

Read in the parasolid file directly (*.x_t) and use the direct read option (File>Import>CAD>Parasolid direct read) or use translation to convert from parasolid format to native GAMBIT ACIS format (File>Import>Parasolid). The former is less likely to corrupt data but will come in as virtual hence reduces geometry operations (entities will be c_*), though you might be able to convert. Also you can use the Gambit SOlidWorks CAD connection tool at v1.2.4 (for 2006/7/8) which is free and can be obtained from www.fluentusers.com which will help with transfer.

you can save as the solidworks file as .igs, .step, .parasoid and then import it into gambit. Thanks rupal |
