can somebody help me do a thermal analysis for friction stir welding? i am unable to get good results.i tried doing a 3ddp analysis using a simple sheet and cylindrical tool. i modeled the sheet as fluid and gave it vel of 1mm/s.gave its opening face a inlet vel of 1mm/s and outlet face was taken to be as outflow. other faces of sheet modeled as walls.the tool pin surface and tool shoulder surface were given a constant heat flux of 100w/m2. tool was given a rotational vel of 400rpm.i gave no convection coeff.just gave a ambient temp to all parts.i get weird results when i iterate from sheet inlet. please can someone help.i really need this help.
