Hello Everybody,

I read a discussion related to structured and unstructured grids. And am working on a similar problem. details: Geometry: 3-D Y pipe bifurcation with reducing diameters all through. Mesh: I have created unstructured (tets), structured multiblock hex and am working on cooper scheme for the entire geometry since I was thinking about possible effects of alignment of the cells in the multiblock mesh. Problem: I cannot mesh a cooper near the region where the pipe disintegrates into two daugher pipes since the diameters are reducing (variable). I am yet to overcome this problem. It would be great if I can get some comments from you on the above. Thanks in advance. Best Regards Samir

I did, Thank you much. But, I was worried about the alignment of cells to the flow and if that affected the results. I'm working on that. Thank you and Have a good day. Regards, Samir.

i'm afraid i can't offer any advice on this but i am in the process of modelling the same pipe arrangement. i had difficulty creating a smooth split, diameter reducing pipe. what method did you use to create the geometry?

thanks
