Hello guys,
I got a .case file which is previously has been created and see that a boundary condition, velocity inlet, has .prof (profile data) in all directions. I got .prof file in same folder and looked via .notepad. But i am looking for how that .prof had been created. Possibly it has been get a previous .dat file. How does it extract as .prof file for any boundary condition (for previous .dat file) ? Because it is not possible to write it manually in text file. Really in advance appreciated! |

Either it was manually created or it is the solution data written by Fluent into a .prof format. Fluent simply writes the data of chosen variables at faces/nodes (I can't remember which).

Thank you,
I have resolved the problem. Similarly, can we also extract temperature/pressure/velocity of interest for the any "CELL ZONE" ? |

Hi Oozcan,
Please can you tell us how you resolved the issue, for anyone who finds this thread in the future? My suggestion was going to be to try writing out a settings file. This can only be done through typing a TUI command into the command window: /file/write-settings. I think this creates a profile file for any loaded profiles. For writing and reading cell-zone data, look at the top menu item File...Interpolate. (Bear in mind, though, that reading in an interpolation file can be hit-and-miss when the meshes are not identical.) Good luck! Ed |

I don't see where there is any problem...?
Profiles can be written for boundaries or cell zones. There are several ways to extract data from any cell zone, not necessarily involving a .prof file. What is your asking about? What do you need help with? |

I figured out how I set .prof file for the new one .case file. But I really have not seen the cell zone by using .prof file. If it not possible, how can I extract cell zone of interest to new .case file? what is the way I get?
Best Regards, |
