Hi When making a simulation and setting mesh adaption parameters, should the convergence criteria of the adaption be the same as the whole simulation convergence?
Thanks |

Hi Joe,
In general there is no point to converging an initial solution so tight. The idea is to converge enough so the flow field is generally right, then mesh adapt and repeat until the final adaption, then converge to the final tolerance. Glenn |

Thanks for your advice! Another question i have is when modelling a free surface..what would be the appropriate turbulent model: k-epsilon or SST? Both of them do show the fluid flow quite accurately, so what can be the difference?
Thanks in advance! |

Hi Joe,
Sounds like some reading into the basis of the various turbulence models is called for. Can I recommend you get a textbook on turbulence modelling - "Turbulence modelling for CFD" by Wilcox is a good one. Glenn Horrocks |
