Hello, does anyone know how to calculate/display the normal velocity on an inclined plane in CFX-Post ?

Opaque will become famous soon enough
Create the plane,

Create a vector plot, select projection method: Normal

Hope the above helps,

Thank you but I would like a contour plot of normal velocity and not a vector plot ...

Define a new variable

Normal Velocity = Normal X * Velocity u + Normal Y * Velocity v + Normal Z * Velocity w

Create contour for Normal Velocity..

What exactly does represent ''Normal X'' for example ? It could be Y vector, Z vector, YZ plane ... Sorry, but I'm not sure I fully understand the formula.
A simple example, if I apply this formula on a XY plane, that will be the Velocity z ?
