Diesel unsteady flame-let model using Ansys fluent v16.2

Posted September 30, 2018 at 06:02 by anilwakale

Dear all,

I am using Diesel unsteady flamelet model for my research work to model mixture chemical kinetic model using n-dodecane/butanol blends. The aim of my study is to see how butanol blends affect the reduction of NOx and soot emission using the default zeldovich and one-step soot model from Ansys fluent v16.2 version. I took the help of engine simulations done from the workbench and simulated in fluent tutorials from youtube and created our own mesh and fluent cease file too....

Following tutorial shows the usage for:
Code:
compressible::turbulentTemperatureCoupledBaffleMixed
for thin layers of materials, that can't be modeled with meshing process.
The test case is for solid regions only.

Compatible with OF5.x 6.x dev

Code:
./run to select for 1D or 2D not conformal mesh
./clean to reset case folder

Validation Cases Using Ansys Fluent

Posted September 18, 2018 at 07:47 by varun.vysyaraju

Objective:

Steady state heat conduction with fixed temperature at both ends.

Problem Definition:

Two ends of wall subjected to constant temperature T1 = 393 K and T2 = 323K.
Wall of length, l = 0.2 m and thickness = 0.001 m
Thermal conductivity, k = 1.2 W/m-K

Methodology:

1. Ansys Fluent was used for simulation
2. Initial condition of temperature 323 K was given to domain
3. Left wall temp = 393...
