Good day to all,
I have the following problem. I have to model this in Ansys and calculate when the pin breaks when a force of T=800N is applied. Unfortunately I don't know where to set the fixed points and the acting forces in Ansys. I would be very grateful if someone could show me how this works. Thank you and many greetings Peter |

Really weird to use FEA for this. You can do it several ways, but here is the simplest (other than just doing it by hand.)
Make the thin flat model of 1/2 the geometry with A, B, S,and E in appropriate locations. Circular holes will be fine. You have to constrain 6 Defrees of freedom. 3 translations, and 3 rotations. Use frictionless support on one full side to constrain 1 translation (through the page), which also constrains 2 rotations. Use another frictionless support @ Pin A. This constrains the other 2 translations, meaning we only have 1 DOF left, rotation around pin A. Constrain S in the vertical direction only. Apply the arbitrary forces on B and E (Their horizontal components should be equal and opposite, but B will also have a vertical force since it is at an angle) Run the analysis Perform a force reaction probe on displacement @ S, which will tell you the corresponding force on S. Scale your results linearly to find your solution. You can probe other constrains at well, like your Pin A. |
