Hello
I am new in this forum and quite new with ICEM. I blocked the enclose geometry in different ways, but I can not achieve a good quality! the Box has two circle outlet and the geometry is really simple. As I saw there are so many expert people here in ICEM meshing which is of course this is really simple and easy for them to mesh, I am kindly ask to offer me the best blocking strategy for this geometry types. As I saw that the members asking to enclose the geometry in order to help better, you can download the geometry below. Many thank all of you who will help me. I don't have pc right now, but this a very basic geometry here are the step to do a nice blocking:
1- create an initial block. 2- create an ogrid inside the block you created in step 1. you have to select the bottom face (ground) to when creating the o-grid. (Because the two shares the same face) 3- make the splits to capture the circles, don't forget to add o-grid inside those because of the circular shape. Come back here if you still found it difficult, i will remotely connect to my pc in lab and help you do it. |

Hello and thanks for your sample block.
Do you see the quality and scan plane of the mesh! why you add some curves to the geometry? to assign theses curves for your o-grid? Is there any way that the o-grid don't go along the hole geometry? when we have no any cicle hole in the other wall, then why o-grid should go throw the hole walls? anyway, thanks for your time. I am looking for an intelligent block strategy to avoid cutting hole the blocks in so many peaces! |

Hello.
How can I use the Edge edit command to improve the quality in this case?! could you please let me more. It would be great, if others share ideas about the blocking. |
