Tecplot, Inc., a developer of data visualization software, today announced the release of Tecplot Edge 3.0, a data visualization product designed specifically for application developers.
Tecplot Edge is a customizable version of Tecplot 360 that can be easily integrated with other third-party applications. With Tecplot Edge, developers can integrate proven XY, 2D and 3D plotting capabilities into their solver, simulation code or analysis application. Tecplot Edge differs from low-level graphics libraries in that developers get access to a complete visualization application out-of-the-box. This removes the burden of coding and debugging visualization functionality.
Tecplot Edge 3.0 is based on the Tecplot 360 platform, incorporating the advanced features offered with the newest Tecplot release. Additionally, UNICODE character sets are supported on Windows, offering the foundation for localization.
"Tecplot Edge 3.0 is an efficient and cost-effective solution for developers to instantly add visualization technology to their applications," says Mike Peery, Tecplot's President. "Application developers face the ongoing challenge of building quality products on time and within budget. With Tecplot Edge 3.0, developers can add sophisticated visualization capabilities to their applications at a fraction of the time it would take them to build them from scratch."
Tecplot Edge 3.0 is available for Windows, Mac OS X (Intel and PowerPC), Linux, and UNIX. Included in Tecplot Edge is a suite of development tools for extending functionality and building platform-independent GUI code. An annual development license of Tecplot Edge 3.0 starts at $5,000. Additional information about Tecplot, Inc. is available at www.tecplot.com.
