PhD Opportunity in Australia: Exploring particle-bubble interactions in unsteady flows at UQ School of Mechanical and Mining Engineering (Centre for Multiscale Energy Systems) The goal of the project is to investigate the complex interactions between small particles and rising bubbles, using high-fidelity numerical simulations on modern GPUs. This will provide insight into the fundamental principles that govern their behaviour in various flow conditions. Engineering applications in which understanding of such flows is crucial include: •Hydrogen production through methane pyrolysis; •Mineral processing in flotation systems; •Beer brewing in immobilised yeast reactors. To be eligible, you need to: - Meet UQ's PhD entry requirements (find in the link below) - Have strong skills or interest in programming, numerical methods, and fluid mechanics If this sounds like you (or someone you know), feel free to reach out to me directly or see more information at: https://lnkd.in/gD8BFAQN |
