Application Engineer – Gas Turbine Modeling
 
Convergent Science is a rapidly growing computational fluid dynamics (CFD) 
company. Our flagship product, CONVERGE, is a state-of-the-art CFD software 
suite used by industry and research organizations around the world to simulate 
turbulent reacting flows in complex geometries. Convergent Science is 
headquartered in Madison, Wisconsin, USA, with additional offices in the USA, 
Europe, and India.
 
Position Overview
We are seeking a CFD engineer for our headquarters in Madison, Wisconsin, who 
will focus on gas turbine modeling applications to help our company continue to 
grow in this business segment. This position requires a self-motivated 
individual eager to explore new opportunities for our CONVERGE CFD software.
 
Duties Include:
Providing technical support to customers
Preparing sample problems and tutorials
Generating marketing materials
 Visiting clients
 Attending trade shows
Conducting software training
Writing technical papers
Providing technical sales support 

Requirements
 M.S. or Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or related 
field
3+ years of experience in gas turbine combustion CFD modeling (experience gained 
during graduate studies is acceptable)
Knowledge of Lagrangian spray models used in CFD
Knowledge of detailed chemistry combustion modeling
Knowledge of massively parallel processing
 Familiarity with the gas turbine CFD modeling community is a plus
A track record of publishing technical papers related to gas turbine combustion 
modeling is a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
