Issue with clutter on Main CFD Forum

The last few weeks to a month, I've observed that there are countless code specific threads on the main CFD forum (http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/main/). Or threads that are being "brought back from the dead" which involve either someone requesting a code from a user that's last post was 3-4 years ago or something seemingly unrelated.
Is there any means to correct this situation? If not, I understand but it makes coming to CFD-online less valuable. |

Administrators can move threads/posts that are in the wrong forum. If you notice posts that should be moved please report them (click the yellow/red card icon) and write the forum that you think the post/thread should be moved to.
Concerning replies to old threads. Our policy is to not automatically lock old threads. Locked threads can not get any replies. I think that it is nice if people can reply to old threads and bring back topics that are still of interest. We can discuss this policy. I'll post a poll to this subforum to ask about other people's opinion about locking old threads. Sometimes we have locked old threads that have a tendency to attract replies and we know that the replies are not relevant or will not get any response. If you see such threads that you think should be locked please report also those and write in the comment that you suggest that this thread is locked. |
