Hi Community,

It seems that I miss some solvers in OpenFoam 1.6, for example, icoDyMFoam, and turbDyMFoam.
After typing "find . -name "*DyM*" -print |more", I have
./multiphase/compressibleInterDyMFoam
./multiphase/compressibleInterDyMFoam/compressibleInterDyMFoam.C
./multiphase/interDyMFoam
./multiphase/interDyMFoam/interDyMFoam.C
./compressible/sonicDyMFoam
./compressible/sonicDyMFoam/sonicDyMFoam.C
./incompressible/pimpleDyMFoam
./incompressible/pimpleDyMFoam/pimpleDyMFoam.C

Is it because I installed from binary release? Who can share the complete list of all solvers? Thanks.

Fiona

Greetings Fiona,

After reading your post, I found it odd too. But I've searched in both OpenFOAM 1.6 and 1.6.x and they aren't there.
I went to the www.openfoam.com site and searched in the release notes, and it says that have been some restructuring, namely:
Quote:
Solvers which support laminar, RAS and LES:
  • turbFoam, oodles -> pisoFoam.
  • turbDyMFoam -> pimpleDyMFoam.
  • rhoTurbFoam, coodles -> rhoPisoFoam.
  • xoodles -> absorbed into XiFoam.
  • buoyantFoam, lesBuoyantFoam -> buoyantPisoFoam.
  • interFoam, rasInterFoam, lesInterFoam -> interFoam.
  • lesCavitatingFoam, rasCavitatingFoam -> cavitatingFoam.
By what I've read in the "pimpleDyMFoam.C", it's now generic, incorporating laminar, LES and RAS. So icoDyMFoam is in it too!

As for how to use it? My best guess is to see the tutorial cases for the new solver pimpleDyMFoam!

Best regards,
Bruno

Your main question was probably answered by wyldckat but I'll attach the list for OpenFOAM 1.6.x anyway.
