Hi,
i often used the skript and it always worked well even with Debian 5. But on one computer the following error message comes: gcc -m32 -Wall -O3 -fPIC dirToString.c -o /home/timo/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.6.x/wmake/bin/linuxGcc/dirToString flex wmkdep.l gcc -m32 -Wall -O3 -fPIC lex.yy.c -o /home/timo/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.6.x/wmake/bin/linuxGcc/wmkdep lex.yy.c:1393: warning: ‘yyunput’ defined but not used lex.yy.c:1436: warning: ‘input’ defined but not used wmkdep.l: In function ‘yy_scan_bytes’: wmkdep.l:463: internal compiler error: Ungültiger Maschinenbefehl Please submit a full bug report, with preprocessed source if appropriate. Hi.
From the suggestions of Bruno above (thanks, man), I have changed the scripts to support Ubuntu 9.10. Actually I have scripts now for 9.04 and 9.10 separately (link in my signature). I have just installed a fresh Ubuntu 9.10 64-bit from scratch and used the new scripts and they worked. Please let me know about any issues you might have, and I will upgrade. /Mads

Hi Alessandro.
We might a bit more info. Is it a fresh install of 9.10? Is it when the script executes bashrc or when you (why?) do it? It should be added automatically to your .bashrc file so there shouldn't be any need for you executing it yourself. /Mads

It's not proper a fresh installation of Ubuntu 9.10 (I have update it and install the driver of my quadro video card and uninstall some useless programs (the gimp in example).
It happen when I copy-paste the script from your file to my terminal. Maybe I have to reinstall a fresh ubuntu installation and the try, If could be usefull I have a dual boot system xp/9.10 and for 9.10 3 partitions: /,/home and swap. Thank you Alessandro |

What if you write (just to check if the installation is where it should be, and the bashrc of OpenFOAM is present):
ls ~/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.6.x/etc/bashrc /Mads

Hi,
on my netbook i used the old script and it worked! Is it necessary to use the other libs? The skript worked for Debian 5. Only the paraFoam does not work! When you use the precompiled version with Lenny (Debian 5) then everything ist fine, but when you compile the 1.6.x, paraFoam does not work anymore - when you compile paraFoam again, it also does not work - strange! Hi Achim.
Interesting. A couple of questions: 1) so the old script worked with Ubuntu 9.10? 2) was it the 32-bit version? 3) you mention Debian 5, what script did you use and did you experience other problems than the one with paraFoam? 4) do you have any error output from paraFoam? /Mads

Alessandro,
Wierd. It seems that you don't have the bashrc of OpenFOAM available at all...? Show us the output of the following commands: 1. ls ~/OpenFOAM 2. ls ~/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.6.x 3. ls ~/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.6.x/etc /Mads

Hi Mads
1) so the old script worked with Ubuntu 9.10? yes, Acer Aspire Netbook with Remix Ubuntu 9.10 (Remix is especially for the netbook - only adapted GUI for the small LCD and Wireless Lan etc. All other things should be the same. Works perfect. Also ParaFoam works with a proper performance. 2) was it the 32-bit version? Intel Atom 3) you mention Debian 5, what script did you use and did you experience other problems than the one with paraFoam? Only paraFoam Reader has problems, compiling the 1.6.x was correct and work proberly. 4) do you have any error output from paraFoam? It looks like the old problem that no reader is found as it occurred with OF1.5 when you had the wrong Qt libraries One Error is in the new 32 Skript. There is no lib64 in the 32 ThirdParty package. /Achim |

1) Yes it seems to work with Debian but in fact in does not.
2) cd ~/OpenFOAM/ThirdParty-1.6/gcc-4.3.3/platforms/linux64/lib64 does not exist in that package -> there is something wrong in the script. A. |
