I am happy to announce the new development » The Gray-Scott-Model «. The model solves two species equations that are coupled and have reaction-diffusion character (of course I also added the convection term). In the model you can see how to implement the equations implicit, explicit and you also can check out how to linearize a non-linear term (the simplest approach is used here). The model can be used for understanding numerics in more details (that was the reason why I implemented explicit and implicit). Unfortunately I did not add the Fourier and Courant number for stabilization criteria.

Anyway, the model can also be used as a playground to see how different settings influence the behavior of the solution. In addition you can get very nice patterns like these here: https://holzmann-cfd.com/en/openfoam...ll-impressions

It is a simple model but you can get some more feeling about FOAM.
