I have similar problem! Did you find how to solve this error?

I wonder whether you have a OpenFOAM4.0 Version of your code? I tried to compile and several errors appeared. I would appreciate greatly if you could update your code for the latest OF some time.

I want to slove "Simply Supported beam with UDL" using elasticSolidFoam. But I don't understand what BCs I should give at both ends ??

a while ago I found here a tool to extract the stress components sigmaxx, sigmaxy... from the computed stress tensor from the time levels.

I Think it was bigPhil how shared the tool.

Unfortunately I can't remember the tools name and so I can't find it

Any hints on this tool appreciated

Hi Tom,

You can use the foamCalc utility to create a volScalarField field for each component of a vector/tensor/symmTensor volField e.g.
Code:
$> foamCalc components sigma
where '$>' represents the command prompt.

I wrote myself a tool to calculate the strain components from the displacement field; this was useful to me since I have been using various versions of OpenFOAM over the years to model semiconductor nanostructures.
