I have contacted the customer service but haven't heard from them. Does anyone have the ANSYS Re-meshing tutorial or any document related to Re-meshing ???

Thank you,

Eric.

Remind CFX support of your support contract. If you don't have a support contract.... well, there you go, that's why you get a support contract.

I don't work for CFX/ansys. I am a paying customer, like everybody else here. I just do lots of posts on the forum because I have a boring social life

Hey I followed the tutorial for re-meshing but re-meshing does not even start ????? Though I have given a condition for re-meshing, it doesnt do anything ??? The case runs the same as without remeshing ???

Is there a way to activate re-meshing ??????????

Thanx !!!

1) Have you allowed the interrupt condition on the: Solver>Solver Control >Basic Settings>Interrupt Control box checked, and Interrupt Condition set to the condition you defined?

2) Have you set the moving boundary's >Boundary Details>Mesh Motion to account for the movement of your boundary? If it is set at Stationary, it won't move at all, even if it has been 'told' to move via an expression.

3) I have found that sometimes re-submitting a case file on the ANSYS customer portal if effective. Most of the time I've gotten a response within a few hours, but I've had someone take two weeks to respond to a question. If its taking a long time, just resubmit a request and odds are it will be assigned to someone different, and maybe they will get back to you sooner.

1.) The Solver>Solver Control >Basic Settings>Interrupt Control box is checked.

2.) moving boundary's >Boundary Details>Mesh Motion > specified displacement

I will try get in touch with the ANSYS customer portal. Since it looks like you have worked on this re-meshing case before is it possible you look into my case. Can I email you the case files ???

Thanx !!!

I can send you my files, if you want to look over them. I am also uploading the CCL file to this thread, you can try to import that into your model. Of course, the file extensions in the remeshing configuration will be wrong, and we probably have different boundary/domain names, but those are pretty straightforward to correct. If you are still having problems, I can try taking a look at what you've got so far.

Here's the output file.......I have defined the terminating condition also.....but still if you see the output file, remeshing does not even initialize ......!!!!!

Appreciate all your help ..........Thanx !!!!

I have had a quick look at the setup and it looks ok. The needed parts for starting a remesh seem to be there. Still the solver never calls after a remesh. Could you try to increase the condition to say 10 degrees instead of 5? By looking at the solver output the remesh condition is never fulfilled before it crashes. That is the only reason as i see it that can cause this behavior.

Hello,

I am also having problems in trying to simulate the mentioned toturial (from edr) and I would apricciate tour help.

Everithing goes well (runs, remesh,...) but the problem is that the body (box), after remeshing, backs to the inicial position. This hapens every time it remeshes.

I've tried to add the initial step in the ICEM replay file "importing the geometry" but then it gives an error when remeshing. I've tried a thousand things more and I can't solve the problem .

There is a "Displacement Wanted" expression in the tutorial pictures, that is never mentioned in the tutorial... Could it be the miss of this expression, which I supose could be related with the "Mesh Initialisation Time"? Or is simpler than this?

Thanks in advance

Just one more thing... I read in the cfx_ref manual, where it mention the steps to creat a replay file, that the first saved step starts with the geometry allready oppened... from this I deduce that my replay file is correct.

I found the answer by my self...

Be carful with the name of the scalar paremeters.... they are case (and name) sensitive ...

Good that you found the error. THere might be something in the pictures that is not really used by the simulation. It took some time for me to figure out how to do it and also some debugging. It wasnt completely obvious of how to do it from the help.

Hope you get some good simulation out of it!.
