hi all
im trying to mesh cylinder that has cylinder in its volume as subdomain, what should i do ?
a general description for this kind of meshing will be helpful,
thank you all in advance

Ok. Take a look ICEM CFD software for 3D concentric cylinders. Maybe it's will help. But he should use o-grid for inner cylinder there.

Ive already seen that but the mesh generated doesn't give me a domain inside the outer cylinder for using in cfx-pre , i can do the mesh with ansys meshing its "apparently" a good mesh , u see aspect ratio is below 5 , skewness and orthogonal angel is fine too , but my solution doesn't converge , my BCs also fine , for more information im trying to model cyclotron gas target , its a cylindrical cavity with filling pressure of 25 atm and its going to be bombarded with proton beam of certain energy and current , it deposits about 570 watt in the cavity that its volume is about 70 ml , so i need the patch conformed mesh of a lot tiny cylinder inside the cavity to model the proton beam energy deposition inside that tiny cylinders , and i need that mesh to be as good as it gets ,
im really frustrated i don't really know where is my problem ,
i know its meshing forum but i thought maybe with more description i could get help better
thanks for reading

Hmm... you may need to associate block faces to geometry surfaces. Look ICEM tutorial 'Bottom Up Hexa Mesh Strategy for a Grid Fin' Step 5.
