Open GRA Positions: Rotating Detonation Engine for Aerospace and Space Applications Immediate opening in the Laboratory of Turbulence, Sensing and Intelligence Systems Laboratory, Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Texas, San Antonio for highly motivated MS or Ph.D. students interested in working on cutting-edge research for Space and Aerospace applications. You will be working with a Computational model of the Rotating Detonation Engine (RDE) for air-borne vehicles – a revolutionary technology for next-generation aircraft and space vehicles. The project involves using Computational Fluid Dynamics, Fluid Dynamics principles, Thermodynamics, Chemistry, and Turbulence. A strong interest in programming is required. A good background in Fluid Dynamics and Thermodynamics is preferred. The appointment can start during the Summer or Fall of 2024. US citizenship is required. The project is funded by the US Air Force. This is a great opportunity. There is a possibility of an internship at Air Force Labs as a part of the graduate program, depending on the performance of the student.
